Transform the way you communicate

Digital Signage – Things to Avoid

Digital signage is becoming more and more popular in retail spaces, but unfortunately not everyone is getting it quite right…

Digital signage is an excellent way to engage your customers, build brand loyalty and increase sales, but only if you use it in the right way. Here are some key things to avoid when installing and designing content for your digital signage…

Poor Placement

The most important aspect of digital signage is putting them in places your customers can see them. Not only should they be visible, but they should be in strategic places, or important parts of the store. There will of course be places that are more convenient than others in terms of power outlets or places to mount them, but you shouldn’t settle for what is convenient. We can work with you throughout the installation process to help you select the optimum place for your signage to go.

Poor Visuals

Once your signage is installed in the best possible place, you need to focus on displaying high quality, engaging content. You need something simple, yet impactful, eye-catching, but not overpowering. If you are using graphics or images, these need be high quality and correctly scaled to avoid looking amateur. No matter the quality of your digital signage, if the content is not properly optimised, you risk negatively impacting your audience and your brand.

Irrelevant Content

Know your audience. If you don’t know customers well, how can you effectively communicate with them? Find out what makes them tick and make sure this is represented on your screens. You need tailored, unique content that stands out to make the most of your digital signage.

No Maintenance

You need to keep on top of software updates. Like most connected devices there will be upgrades and software improvements that keep your system up-to-date and running smoothly. Be sure to identify the team member who will be in charge of operating and maintaining the signage to your installers so that they can be briefed on how to work with the technology.
