Heron Foods are a family owned food retailer based in the East Riding of Yorkshire dedicated to bringing its customers the very best value in frozen chilled and grocery products.
The first store opened in Hull in 1979 and now operates from 235 stores, trading throughout the North of England and the Midlands.
In October 2013 Heron Foods embarked on a program to upgrade the Epos till systems at each of its stores. As part of the upgrade, new structured cabling was needed at 170 of the sites to ensure the infrastructure was capable of delivering a fast and reliable network.
The main challenge associated with the project was that all 170 sites needed be re cabled in a 3 month window. This meant that Conceptunet had to mobilise quickly to ensure the sites were ready for the installation of the new tills.
As part of the project Conceptunet installed over 100 Kilometres of Excel Cat 5e UTP cable and around 3,400 outlets across the sites. All of this was successfully managed and implemented in a 3 month window with over 25 sites a week fully being fully cabled by Conceptunet engineers.
Heron Foods now have a state of the art epos solution and reliable network to help drive efficiencies and boost revenue at all of their UK sites.
